Update - September 25, 2026
As part of a water infrastructure improvement project, the contractor , AJ Penna will be closing off and detouring Evergreen Avenue between Myrtle Avenue and Washington Avenue in Westport.
- This detour will be in effect on Monday September 28; Tuesday, September 29; and Wednesday, September 30, each day from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- No through traffic will be permitted on this road during the detour hours. Emergency vehicles, buses and local traffic will be permitted through during the detour hours.
- Traffic control personnel will be stationed at the closures to assist motorists with the detours during detour hours.

Water Main Replacement Project Scheduled to Start April 27, 2026
This water main replacement project will replace approximately 6,895 feet of water main. The project will begin on April 27, 2006. The following street locations will be affected:
- Charles Street
- Evergreen Avenue
- Evergreen Parkway
- New Creek Road
Due to construction, customers should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours during working hours from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Work is expected to be completed by the spring of 2027. Final paving will then be scheduled in coordination with the Town of Westport.
